New stationary mixing plant in Eiberg secures a sustainable future

Betonwerke Unterland GmbH & Co KG, a joint holding company of Fröschl and Rohrdorfer, supplies the districts of Kufstein and Kitzbühel with high-quality ready-mixed concrete from its three locations. In order to secure the site in Eiberg in the long term and ensure competitiveness, it was decided in 2022 to replace the old mobile mixing plant with a new, stationary plant. The construction period, including demolition, lasted from December 2023 to March 2024. The new plant was officially opened on June 28, 2024 together with the companies involved in the construction.

CO2 reduction, energy efficiency and occupational safety

The focus of the planning was on equipping the plant for the future in terms of CO₂ reduction, energy efficiency and occupational safety. In order to take into account the limited space available and to be able to continue using the existing surface water disposal system including the RC system, a concept was developed with Simem S.p.a. in which the concrete discharge is repositioned in the same place. The management opted for a “Wetbeton 120” with a 2.5 m² twin-shaft mixer, four cement silos with a capacity of 120 t each and a specially adapted enclosure with an external stair tower. The new high silo facility built in 2017 with feeding system, additional materials storage, laboratory and social rooms will be retained.

The project was supervised by the German branch of Simem S.p.a. from planning to acceptance. Fröschl Bau AG from Niederndorf was responsible for constructing the concrete foundations. The mixing plant was installed by Simem Germany and the control system was supplied by Simma Electronic. A new stair tower to the mixer and weighing platform ensures safe access to the plant components.

With this investment, Betonwerke Unterland is sending out a clear signal for sustainability and regionality. The representatives of the two shareholders, Mr. Alexander Mangstl (Rohrdorfer) and Mr. Eduard Fröschl (Fröschl), thanked the management for the successful implementation of the project and wished them every success with the new, modern facility.
