Mills for Wonder Cement in India
Kaiserslautern-based Gebr. Pfeiffer AG again secured an order for the supply of a raw mill and a coal mill from India. Wonder Cement Ltd., a newcomer on the cement market and headquarted in Udaipur/India, plans to set up a cement works on a greenfield site in Tehsil Nimbahera in the Chittorgarh district. So far the lime industry has constituted the main field of the customer’s activity who due to his own extensive raw material deposits now intends to produce cement as well. To this end a rotary kiln with a capacity of 6500-7000 t/d will be fed by an MPS 5600 B raw mill. The MPS 5600 B raw mill, which will come equipped with a 5600-kW drive, is designed to produce 550 t/h of raw meal ground to a fineness of 15 % R 90 µm. Pulverized petroleum coke will be used as fuel for the kiln. It will be ground in an MPS 3070 BK roller mill designed for a capacity of 35 t/h to a fineness of 2 % R 90 µm. It will also be possible to grind up to 64 t/h of coal or lignite in the mill, to dry them by means of process gases and to classify them in the integrated SLS-BK high efficiency classifier of the latest generation. Due to the high abrasiveness of the Indian coal, the mill will be provided with appropriate wear protection. For the rating of the mills the customer had made material samples available which had been analysed on MPS test mills with a grinding track diameter of 400 mm which are installed at Gebr. Pfeiffer AG’s test station in Kaiserslautern. The results of the grinding test constituted the basis for the performance guarantees. Thanks to the optimization of the possible parameters the mill can be geared to the special properties of the customer’s material.
