Seven mills for the Turkish market
The Turkish LIMAK Cement Group has ordered three raw mills, three cement mills and one coal mill, from Gebr. Pfeiffer SE from Kaiserslautern/Germany, for upgrading its Pinarhisar, Ankara und Balikesir plants by replacing the existing ball mills.
At the Pinarhisar plant an MPS 4000 B vertical roller mill will be used for grinding 250 tph of raw material to a fineness of < 12 % R on 90 µm. Due to the high moisture of the raw materials of as much as 14 % the mill will feature a larger housing to allow the high gas volume flow required for drying the raw materials to be passed through the mill without problems. For grinding 180 tph of OPC to a fineness of 3500 cm2/g an MPS 4750 BC has been selected. An MPS 2800 BK has been chosen to grind 30 tph petcoke to a fineness of < 2 % 90 µm.
The Ankara and Balikesir plants will be equipped with identical mills for cement and raw material grinding, i.e. each works with an MPS 4570 BC and an MPS 4000 B. Five of the seven mills will be set up in 2013, the others in 2014. GPSE staff will supervise installation and commisioning.
