Robert Schmied appointed new manager of the w&p Peggau site
As of 01.05.2019, Robert Schmied (54) has taken over management of the w&p site in Peggau. He is responsible for the lime, cement and mining divisions. Schmied will draw on his over 25 years of experience in the industry to generate innovative solutions to secure the successful future of the w&p Peggau site. The acknowledged expert in research and development will focus especially on customer acquisition and the development of new products.
Following his studies at the Montan University in Leoben/Austria, Robert Schmied went straight into the cement industry. The accomplished expert in product management, development and production had been working successfully in various positions in the Wietersdorfer company since 1993. There as technical manager of w&p Construction Materials, he was already responsible for three production sites from 2008 to 2011. Prior to his latest appointment, Schmied served as head of development for w&p Construction Materials. After the Wietersdorfer Group divested itself of its construction materials division in 2017, he moved as project manager for strategic projects to Baumit. Now he has returned and will channel his comprehensive competence into his new, diverse range of duties.
