says farewell to Dr. Bernd Scheubel
After more than 30 years of responsible activities in the Refratechnik Group, of which more than 20 years were in company management, Dr. Bernd Scheubel went into well-earned retirement.
Following his move from Krupp Polysius Technikzentrum (today’s TKIS) in Neubeckum in 1987, Dr. Bernd Scheubel started his career with Refratechnik GmbH in Göttingen in the technical sales department for the cement industry in South America. From that time onwards, “his industry” – the worldwide cement industry – always played a central role in his activities.
In 1990, he was given continuously growing territorial responsibilities, which finally led him to a management position in Refratechnik Cement GmbH in 1998. As company manager for sales, research, and development, he was initiator and driving force in the establishment of our subsidiary companies Refratechnik North America Inc. in St. Louis, and Refratechnik Mexico SA in Mexico City. Also the expansion to China was driven by Dr. Scheubel from Göttingen. In 2003 he moved to Ismaning near Munich as managing director of Refra-technik Holding GmbH. From there, he continued the promotion of the Group’s worldwide activities in the cement business. As an excellent salesman, cement expert, and generalist, he continuously expanded the model for customer and service-oriented sales through globally distributed Service Centers. The founding of Refratechnik Asia Ltd., headquartered in Hong Kong, in 2008 is another outstanding success story of his operations.
At the management level in the European Refractory Association and the World Refractory Association, Dr. Scheubel also actively promoted the developments and requirements of the refractory industry.
