Precision screening with elliptical motion
Stationary and track-mounted mobile screens have always been the economic backbone of every stage of treatment in the mineral and mining industries. With the ES series, Metso presents its high-performance horizontal screen, offering up to a 25 % increase in performance in the processing of natural stone and gravel than conventional screening plants. The screening machine offers highly effective elliptical oscillations thanks to its two unbalanced shaft lines, which rotate in opposite directions – a big advantage over conventional screens with linear motion. In difficult conditions, such as wet screening or the screening of sticky or dirty material, the powerful elliptical oscillations – with up to 6 G acceleration – come into a class of their own.
With this series, Metso prioritises uncompromising screening accuracy in all areas. It is a well-known fact that maintenance causes longer periods of downtime; for this reason, high availability is an essential aspect in increasing production and profitability.
In addition to their precision when working with difficult materials, Metso ES screening plants are made with robust screening decks; there are no welded seams on the side walls or along the crossbars. This greatly reduces the danger of crack formation and material fatigue, which increases the machine’s endurance and resilience. All of the assembly components are connected with a secure system of lockbolts.
While conventional elliptical motion screens need three eccentric shafts, the Metso ES screens operate with just two vibration motors and an extremely reliable lubrication system. With this design, mechanical/electronic synchronisation, gears and oil leaks are a thing of the past. The modular Metso MV vibrator is dust-proof, and with just one easy-to-access lubrication point, supply is secured. In contrast to conventional flatbed screens, the ES series offers approximately 50 % more space between the two or three decks, making access for maintenance and outfitting far more secure.
When it comes to safety features, the ES series has it all: coil spring covers to minimise the risk of contusion, safety covers for belts und a gearless vibrator to greatly reduce noise levels. Trellex modular wear is used as standard protection for the feed box, the discharge spout and cardan shaft. The robust screening frames of the Metso ES sieves are prepared for the installation of modular or tension screening media, which can be changed in a very short space of time.
There are many different options to choose from with the ES series, including cross member protection, a range of modular screening media, side tensions screening media, blockage prevention systems, or the version of a fully galvanised plant.
