New contract for Fives by QNCC
Qatar National Cement Co. has selected after international tender the French company Fives FCB for the implementation on a turnkey basis of its 5th production line of a 5000 t/d clinker capacity. This new project is set to cover the huge cement demand sustained by the numerous infrastructure projects planned in the State of Qatar, the 2022 World Cup being probably the most famous, but not the only one.
This new production line covers the complete equipment from the raw material preparation to the cement dispatch, including Fives process equipment: a raw grinding mill of 6400 kW and its associated TSV™ 7500 classifier, a 5-stage single string preheater and its Zero-NOx precalciner, a 4.8 x 76 m three-pier kiln, two TGT® process filters, and two cement mills of 4200 kW and their associated TSV® 4000 classifiers.
The execution of the plant on EPC basis will be done in three steps, starting with the 1st cement mill production in 17 months, and then the 2nd grinding plant within 19 months. The last phase will be the firing of the kiln and the production of clinker within 27 months. The Belgian company TPF-Basse Sambre s.a. has been appointed by QNCC as the consultant engineer for the project.
