Claudius Peters‘ ETA Cooler exceeds 13 000 t/d in China
The ETA Cooler, the concept for cooling clinker in the cement making process announced by Claudius Peters Projects GmbH in 2004, has reached a new capacity milestone with a more than 13 000 t/d model going into production earlier this year in China.
Since introducing the ETA Cooler principle to the cement world in 2004 with the first 2000 t/d installation at a Holcim Cement plant in Switzerland, the technology has been widely acclaimed over traditional and competing technol-ogies for its efficiency and versatility.
Over the last decade or so the company has progressively offered the market increasingly higher capacity models, now reaching 13 000 t/d – currently one of the world‘s highest capacity cement line production. Even higher capacity is feasible.
Due to its unique design, no dust removal system is required with the ETA Cooler and the relatively long stroke action means a low grate speed, which in turn means less wear and maintenance. And, as there is no obstruction to the clinker flow in this moving floor technology, a high transport efficiency is also achieved, with uniform cooling, thus improving the quality of the clinker and in turn the quality of the cement produced.
This all adds up to lower operating costs with increased reliability and product quality. Moreover, the ETA Cooler has a very low construction profile, virtually guaranteeing that it can be installed as a retrofit option to any existing cement producing line. Its modular design also means that the ETA Cooler can be installed with minimal production downtime.
In the 1950’s Claudius Peters introduced its first 500 t/d continuous grate clinker cooler and since then the company has forged a solid reputation in this field, with literally hundreds of installations worldwide.
The Claudius Peters company was established in Hamburg/Germany, in 1906 by its eponymous founder. The company, which employs around 600 people, has been part of the British engineering group, Langley Holdings plc, since 2001.
