58th Annual IEEE-IAS/PCA Cement Industry Technical Conference
As an employee of the 134 year old Ash Grove Cement Company and chair of the 58th Annual IEEE-IAS/PCA Cement Industry Technical Conference in Dallas, Texas, May 15–19, 2016, I invite you to register and attend. This year’s venue for the conference is the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.
The event is jointly sponsored by the Portland Cement Association and the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers. It is open to both domestic and international attendees and is the largest cement industry conference in North America. Last year there were more than 900 attendees representing every major cement industry producer and supplier.
The IEEE conference will open Sunday, May 15, with a cocktail reception in the exhibit hall where more than 150 exhibitors will be present to offer the latest products for the industry. On Monday things get busy with extended exhibit hours, professional development training sessions geared toward the newer industry professional, tutorials, a series of process training sessions for process engineers, a student outreach program and networking opportunities.
General session activities occur Tuesday and Wednesday with a keynote speaker, reports on the state of the industry, the latest on government regulation affecting the industry and the presentations of the newest technology. The Wednesday awards banquet will recognize the most outstanding technical presentations.
On Thursday, my Ash Grove colleagues and I will host a tour of the modernized Ash Grove Cement Midlothian facility.
