10th European Slag Conference
The 10th European Slag Conference will take place in Thessaloniki/Greece from 08.10.-11.10.2019, jointly organized by the Laboratory of Building Materials of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Euroslag and Aeiforos.
Euroslag is the European association of all main organizations and companies concerned with all aspects of manufacturing and utilization of ferrous slag products. The association deals with promotion of slag as a product, enables exchange of information and research and facilitates the interaction with governing bodies. Each year, an amount of 45 million t of ferrous slag (iron and steel slag) is generated in Europe, a real challenge for circular economy.
The purpose of the 10th European Slag Conference is to share updated knowledge, ideas and research related to technical applications, environmental and legal aspects for all kinds of iron and steel slag. The conference aims at bringing together all persons involved in processing, using and marketing slag from private companies, public authorities, research institutes, universities, technical schools or environment safety organizations.
The topics of interest include:
Legal framework (developments in legislation, rules and standards in Europe and other regions of the world)
Utilization and best practices (sourcing and logistics, best practices for timely and effectively recycling and resource efficiency)
Research and innovation (characteristics of slag and slag-based products, updated studies, research and demonstration projects, new techniques)
