Wietersdorfer Goes Down Under – next step in internationalization to Australia

The Wietersdorfer Group acquires 75.1% of the shares in the Australian GRP pipe manufacturer, RPC Pipe Systems, via its subsidiary Amiblu Australia Ltd. The Carinthian family-owned company thus secures the Australian market and strengthens its market presence in the Asia-Pacific region. With this acquisition, the Wietersdorfer Group is now active with production sites in North and South America, Europe, Africa and Australia.

“By diversifying our business activ-ities internationally, we are creating the necessary breadth and flexibility to be successful in the long term and to be able to deliver our products in the usual high quality,” explains Michael Junghans, CEO of the Wietersdorfer Group. “With the acquisition of RPC Pipe Systems in Australia, we are opening up new growth opportunities on another dynamically developing continent and in the neighboring market of New Zealand.” The group of companies, which is active in five business areas, is now represented in 47 countries and employs around 3,600 people at a total of 101 production and sales locations in Austria and abroad.

RPC Pipe Systems is now part of Wietersdorf’s GRP Pipe Systems division. The Australian company is known for its advanced technologies in the manufacture of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) pipes. RPC Pipe Systems offers innovative solutions for applications in the fields of drinking water and wastewater management, irrigation systems and environmental technology. GRP pipe systems are characterized by their durability, corrosion resistance and excellent hydraulic properties. They are also a cost-effective alternative as they have lower installation, maintenance and operating costs. RPC Pipe Systems operates two state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Adelaide, South Australia, and employs around 100 skilled professionals.
