TUM/ACI 2026 CONFERENCE
Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the American Concrete Institute (ACI) will host this landmark event about chemical admixtures, concrete technology and sustainability in Munich later this summer. This international conference will conveniently take place at the Hilton Munich Airport.
TUM/ACI 2026 Conference is a premier global event covering all aspects of construction materials. It brings together academic researchers, application experts and industry representatives from the global cement and concrete community to discuss recent developments and innovations. About 300 delegates from around the world with a focus on the Middle East, India and Asia are expected to attend. The first part of the conference from 6–8 July is focused on the chemistry of Superplasticizers and other chemical admixtures, while the urgent transition of the cement and concrete industries towards decarbonization and the implementation of new technologies for sustainable construction are addressed in the second part of the conference from 8–10 July. Chairpersons of the event are Prof. Dr. Johann Plank (TU München, Germany) and Dr. V. Mohan Malhotra who initiated this conference already in the 1970s and is Honorary Chairperson.

A major highlight of the event will be a keynote address by Prof. Dr. Manfred Curbach, recipient of the Nobel Sustainability Award 2025, who will share pioneering insights into his invention of carbon concrete. Other featured speakers include industry and academic leaders such as Dr. Ferrari (Mapei), Dr. Mazanec (Master Builders), Dr. Dengler (Sika), Dr. Saint-Loup (Saint-Gobain), Prof. Moon (Korea), Prof. Palomo (Spain), Prof. Ludwig (Germany), Prof. Hooton (Canada) and Dr. Dietrich (Heidelberg Materials).

Special sessions will be dedicated to award several excellent scientists for their outstanding achievements: Prof. Dr. Changwen Miao (China), Dr. Martin Schneider (Germany), Prof. Dr. Jason Weiss (USA), Prof. Dr. Jan Olek (USA), Prof. Dr. Nemkumar Banthia (Canada) and Prof. Dr. Ravindra Gettu (India), recognizing their breakthrough and life-long contributions to the field. The conference is supported by numerous industry sponsors and provides an excellent platform for specialists, professors and PhD students to network with representatives from leading experts.
