New Managing Director Politics of the BVK: Philip Nuyken
Philip Nuyken has been appointed Managing Director Politics by the Board of the Bundesverband der Deutschen Kalkindustrie e. V. (BVK) as of 01. June 2024. In this new role, he will continue to manage the BVK’s office in the capital and will further intensify political contacts and place the BVK’s topics in a targeted manner.
As head of the Berlin office, Nuyken has already been on site for the BVK since September 2021 and represents the lime industry and its challenges in direct communication with political representatives and stakeholders in the areas of energy, climate and economic policy. Previously, Nuyken was responsible for these political issues for 4 years as Manager Energy and Climate Policy at the Federation of German Industries (BDI).
The Managing Director of BVK, Martin Ogilvie, is pleased that the Board is continuing to support the work in Berlin with this decision and is strengthening the positioning vis-à-vis the Federal Government, Parliament and other stakeholders with the appointment of a Managing Director for Politics for the first time. “In Philip Nuyken, we have an accomplished expert for our key political issues in the team, whose knowledge and networks complement the management team very well.”
Together with Technical Managing Director Dr. Klaus-Ruthard Frisch, Philip Nuyken will now represent BVK externally in the management team around Martin Ogilvie in the coming years. The challenges facing the lime industry in the coming years, including on the way to climate-neutral production in Germany, are immense; close coordination with and support from politicians is urgently required for this.
