Process technology for Greece and Jordan
The CTP team (Bedeschi Group) has recently secured an order for the Halyps cement plant which is part of the Italcementi Group in Greece. The scope of work is relevant to the upgrade of the existing conditioning tower and the supply of the process filter for kiln/raw mill exhaust gas dedusting including a new lime injection system for SOx reduction. The project includes a new compressed air station, lime dosing silos, ducting, filter fan, dismantling of existing equipment and erection of new equipment. The electrical feeding facilities and automation system are supplied as well. The lime injection system is designed to reduce the SO2 concentration at the stack to 300 mg/Nm3. Commissioning is scheduled for July 2009.
The CTP team commissioned on February 2009 a new bag filter (Fig.) for kiln/raw mill exhaust gas dedusting at the Fuhais plant (Jordan) belonging to JCF – Lafarge Group. This is a turnkey project for a
3700 t/d kiln and involved both the upgrade of the existing twin conditioning towers and the conversion of the old electrostatic precipitator into a bag filter whose capacity is now 660 000 Am3/h. Particularly, the filter is equipped with independent chambers and on-line maintenance is possible without stopping the production. No duct modification was required and the existing ESP fan and motor is fully reusable without any modification. Commissioning was successfully executed in February 2009.
