Third Workshop on Cement Calorimetry

After Berlin 2014 and Aarhus 2015, this third edition of the Workshop on Cement Calorimetry will be held at Lund University in Sweden on 15.06.-16.06.2016.

The objective of the workshop is to bring together current and prospective users of isothermal calorimetry and to share best practices. Participants will have the opportunity to see examples of typical applications of isothermal calorimetry, but will also get an outlook for future applications and novel approaches where calorimetry is used in both quality and process control, and in research and development.

The agenda will include participation by specialists in cement calorimetry, as well as presentations from users in industry and academia. A panel of experts will also answer questions in hot topic sessions, such as: “Can I study early cement reactions without internal mixing?” and “How should I select a reference, and how important is this?”, as well as other topics brought up by participants.

The quicker, the better: how automated isothermal calorimetry (polabCal) improves quality and process control in cement plants

Future green cements will be produced from less clinker; and the clinker will be produced with new technologies releasing less and at someday zero CO 2 . Cement suppliers will be challenged to maintain consistent clinker reactivity at a lower CaCO 3 content in the raw materials and with fuels emitting less CO 2 .
