Increasing the service life of refractory bricks is a significant contribution to the efficiency of cement kilns and higher environmental protection, because less refractory material has to be produced, and kiln downtimes in the cement plant can be avoided or at least reduced, with a corresponding reduction of the specific energy consumptions, as well as emissions [1].
