Silo order from PT Semen Padang
In May 2014 Claudius Peters Projects from Buxtehude/Germany was awarded a contract by PT Semen Padang to supply two new cement storage silos for their new Indarung VI plant. PT Semen Padang was established in 1910 and is the oldest cement plant in Indonesia. For some years the plant belonged to PT Semen Gresik Group, which was renamed PT Semen Indonesia in January 2013.
The scope of supply comprises two storage silos type IC with inspection chamber, each with a diameter of 20 m, a height of around 30 m and a volume of 9000 m3. The two silos are to be placed on two rail tracks in line with another four existing Claudius Peters IC Silos supplied in the 90’s. From each silo, three rail cars of two trains are loaded by mobile loaders. A special solution in this project was needed to consider the circumstances that the new silos are placed on the rail tracks with curves of different radiuses.
The Indarung VI plant is expected to commence operation in the second half of 2016 and will also be equipped with two new packing plants from Claudius Peters.
