(57) A method of mining gypsum includes: in-situ leaching gypsum in a harvesting bed, such as a leach pad 5, in an existing gypsum resource with a leach liquor and dissolving or otherwise washing gypsum and producing upgraded gypsum in the harvesting bed. The method also includes harvesting or otherwise removing upgraded gypsum from the harvesting bed and transporting upgraded gypsum directly as a marketable product to a port or other location.
