Maxit Group – higher investments in 2017

In the year 2017, the maxit Group (Azendorf) is making further investments running into millions of euros.

The well-known mortar and paint manufacturer will channel around € 10 million into the extension of equipment for mortar pad production and into the building of a new research and development centre at the company headquarters in Azendorf/Germany.

Following refurbishment of the training centre in Niederwinkling, the company now has modern, optimally equipped training facilities at its disposal. Only in 2013, the site in Lower Bavaria profited from an investment package, which led, amongst other things, to the installation of a new dispatch facility and approx. 3500 m² additional storage space. In total, the company spent five million euros on these developments.

Additional capacities were also installed last year at the main site in Azendorf: Expenditure running into a double-digit million amount has enabled the acquisition of one the most modern lime kilns in Europe as well as the construction of a 1800 m² production facility for mortar pads. In the forthcoming years, around € 17 million are to be channelled into the latter, with which up to 22 lines will be added to the so far five production lines. The first step towards this is being taken in the current year 2017.

Up to today, around € 100 million have been invested in the gypsum plant in Krölpa and at three other sites in Germany’s eastern states. Similar applies to the maxit branch in the Czech Republic. Only five years ago, the site in Beroun, just outside Prague, got a new drymix mortar plant worth around € 5 million.
