Italcementi to invest € 150 million in Rezzato

Italcementi will invest € 150 million to make the Rezzato plant the most efficient and eco-friendly cement plant in Europe. Built in 1964, the plant will be revamped starting December 2012, combining the best available technology in cement production with the most modern and up-to-date process.

“Significant environmental and economic benefits will be achieved thanks to the revamping of the plant”, said Carlo Pesenti, Italcementi CEO. Along with the Calusco d’Adda and Matera plants, the new revamped plant will be one of the cutting-edge cement plants in Italy. The group is currently investing also in India and Bulgaria, but this commitment in Italy is a further demonstration of Italcmeneti´s local roots and “our trust in the future of our country despite the current difficult economic scenario”, said Pesenti.
