Ian Riley first World Cement Association CEO
The World Cement Association has appointed Ian Riley as its first CEO, effective as of 01.09.2019. At the same time Norman Greig is retiring as Secretary General, a role he has held since the Association’s formation in 2016.
Ian Riley has a wealth of international experience, having worked across the cement industry in Europe, America and Asia; most recently in China where he spent the last ten years as Country Head for LafargeHolcim.
One of his first responsibilities will be to oversee the third WCA World Cement Conference, taking place in Shanghai on 09.09.-11.09.2019 (see below).
At the same time, Norman Greig announced his retirement as the Association’s Secretary General, concluding a long and impressive international career in the cement industry. He has been instrumental in driving the growth of the WCA since inception, helping turn it into the world-leading organisation it is today.
Kirsty Monk, who is WCA Membership & Administration Manager and has also been with the Association since its launch, will additionally take on the role of Company Secretary.
