Engineering & Innovation under new management

Dr. Jennifer Scheydt is the new head of the Engineering & Innovation department at HeidelbergCement in Germany, based in Leimen. She succeeds Eckhard Bohlmann who has retired. The main task of the Engineering & Innovation department is the development of efficient products and solutions adapted to market demands.

Dr. Scheydt studied civil engineering at Karlsruhe University (Institute of Technology). Between 2004 and 2012, she was employed as a research associate at the Karlsruhe Materials Testing and Research Institute and the Institute of Concrete Structures and Building Materials at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), with a focus on special concrete and concrete corrosion. She completed a PhD at KIT in 2013 on the durability of ultra-high strength concrete. Following the PhD, she joined HeidelbergCement AG where she initially worked as a project engineer. In 2016, she became team leader of the Innovation & Cement Product Development Division before becoming head of department in April this year.
