(57) The invention relates to a cooler for cooling bulk material, in particular cement clinker, said cooler comprising the following components: – a supporting frame, which has at least a plurality of static transverse supports (1) each extending in a transverse direction of the cooler; – a plurality of static longitudinal supports (3) which extend in a longitudinal direction of the cooler and are fastened to the transverse supports (1); – a plurality of static aeration floors (6) for deposition of the bulk material, - a plurality of movable conveying elements, said conveying elements each having – a drive support (8) which extends between two of the aeration floors (6) in the longitudinal direction of the cooler, and – one or more entraining elements (14) attached to the drive support (8), – a plurality of linear drives which are each supported on one of the drive supports (8) and on at least one of the longitudinal supports (…).
