Accepting responsibility

All producers of building materials throughout the world are aware of their responsibility towards man and environment. It’s hard to imagine company concepts without the aspect of sustainability, which permanently accompanies day-to-day operations. One article in this issue focuses on the topic as to which aspects of sustainability could be important today and in the future. However, there are many exemplary projects regionally and locally, i.e. in the direct sphere of influence of a plant, with the goal of “Sustainable economy and action”, e.g. the power supply of a plant by means of alternative energies, making use of waste heat from production processes or also supporting educational and learning projects in schools and kindergartens. Many of these projects serve as beacons or, at least, are good examples of how the environmentally sound production of building materials could look which would be acceptable to society. If you also have any such projects, please let us know. We will report on this to prove that the building materials sector is creative and innovative, and that it is aware of its collective responsibility.
