Dear readers,

After dedicating the last issue to the 66th annual IEEE-IAS/PCA Cement Conference, we now venture a look ahead. As the name suggests, the ZKG Cement Lime Gypsum focuses on events for the cement, lime and gypsum industry. The International Lime Conference in Oslo awaits us in October.

The conference, which will take place from 8 to 11 October, will focus on decarbonization, including carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) technologies. Additionally, participants will have the unique opportunity to visit the carbon-, capture- and storage-site (CCS) of Heidelberg Materials in Brevik. Further information on the ILA Health & Safety Award 2024 will also follow in this context.

There will also be another highlight in the second half of the year – the 9th International VDZ Congress will be held in Düsseldorf from November 6 to 8, 2024. In addition to all topics related to cement production, this event will also focus on the decarbonization of the entire cement and concrete value chain. Of course, reports from the field will also offer many interesting aspects in the case studies. The ZKG will also be on display at this event with our special issue, the Green Challenge issue. We are calling on all authors to participate in order to unite and present the broadest possible spectrum of forward-looking ideas in the field of cement production.
