(57) A dry cementitious composition is provided, the composition comprising: a binder comprising ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS), fly ash (FA) or a mixture thereof; and an activator comprising: a silicate; and a source of chloride (Cl-) ions. A method for forming a cement, mortar, concrete, grout or render is also provided, the method comprising: i) providing a cementitious composition as hereinbefore defined; ii) combining the cementitious composition with water; and curing the resulting mixture.
