HEIDELBERG MATERIALS | B&A GROUP

B&A Group joins the Heidelberg Materials family

Heidelberg Materials has acquired B&A Group, one of the leading construction soil and aggregate recycling companies in south west England. The Bristol-based company employs a team of 70 and specialises in the supply of recycled and primary aggregate as well as site clearance, earthworks, land remediation and sustainable land regeneration. It had its most successful year to date in 2023, turning over in excess of £ 50m making a pre-tax profit of £ 9.1m.

The acquisition of B&A Group is another example of Heidelberg Materials’ commitment to reaching net zero by conserving natural materials and promoting the circular economy by recycling, reusing and reducing the use of primary raw materials.

CEO Simon Willis said: “B&A Group is a successful business with an unrivalled reputation in the south west, underpinned by a strong team. This announcement follows the completion of our acquisition of Mick George Limited and adds an additional source of high-quality recycled materials for use in our sustainable building materials. It is an exciting opportunity for us, and I am looking forward to working with the B&AGroup to grow the business further.”

B&A Group joins Heidelberg Materials’ recycling business line, headed by Recycling Managing Director James Whitelaw.
