ILA General Assembly and Symposium 2022
This year’s ILA General Assembly and Symposium will be held in Paris/France on 12.10.-14.10.2022. The event will bring together the global lime business. The purpose of ILA is the exchange of information and experiences on all subjects that are of interest to the lime industry worldwide.
The main topics of this year’s symposium will be among other things Health and Safety, Internet of Things (IoT) and Sustainability and CO2.
50+2 Anniversary
The International Lime Association (ILA) was founded in Paris/France on 27.11.1970 by national lime associations and producers from Belgium, Finland, Germany, Japan, South Africa, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the USA. Throughout the decades, ILA has strongly expanded and today consists of 35 members from all continents.
During the Paris event this year the International Lime Association will be celebrating the 50th anniversary since its foundation in 1970 – due to the pandemic postponement it is 50+2 to be precise.
ILA Health & Safety Award 2022
Furthermore, the ILA Health & Safety Award 2022 will be awarded in cooperation with Vision Zero. During the 2018 General Assembly and Information Exchange Forum in South Africa the ILA joined the Global Initiative “Vision Zero” (www.visionzero.global) for safety, health and well-being at work, developed by the International Social Insurance Association (ISSA). By committing to this successful international strategy, it is intended to establish a culture of prevention at all the workplaces in the global lime industry in order to strengthen the efforts for better workplace safety, health and wellbeing towards zero accidents and work-related diseases. In 2021 the 1st ILA Health & Safety Award was celebrated via a web-ceremony with all award-winners, participants, jury members and several other ILA members.
The award winning categories for the ILA Health & Safety Award 2022 are:
Technology: Innovative technical solutions to avoid or minimize risks for health & safety
Prevention culture: New concepts and activities to stimulate health & safety culture, new solutions for sustainable organization and motivation for health & safety and measures to support a healthy workforce
Health prevention: New measures and actions activate focusing on keeping people healthy, specific efforts aimed at reducing the development and severity or prevention of (chronic) diseases, morbidities, injuries and death.
