TKIS wins follow-up order for Al Sawfa cement plant

ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions has received an order from Al Sawfa Cement Company/Saudi Arabia, to build a complete cement production line. The new 5300 tpd cement clinker production plant will be constructed parallel to the existing line in Jabal Farasan, approximately 150 km north-east of Jeddah. Likewise supplied by TKIS, this cement production line has been in operation since 2009.

ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions is supplying all components for the new cement line in Jabal Farasan, from the raw material preparation system, to the clinker manufacturing process, to the cement loading facility. Commissioning is planned for 2016.

The main components comprise: a crushing plant (1700 tph), a storage facility for additives (with a storage capacity of 5 x 8000 t), a blending bed, as well as a raw material grinding plant with ball mill and a Polysius Sepol separator (390 tph), and, for raw meal storage, a blending silo with a capacity of 15 000 t. The Polysius kiln line will consist of a 5-stage preheater with Prepol AS-CC, the Polro rotary kiln and a Polytrack cooler with intermediate crusher. Cement grinding will take place in two ball mills with Sepol high-efficiency separators. The plant will be rounded off with a cement silo (with a capacity of 6000 t) as well as cement packing and loading facilities.
