Celebration of 90th anniversary
On 24.04.2015, Christian Pfeiffer from Beckum/Germany celebrated its 90th anniversary with over 200 customers, business partners and employees from 31 countries. There was much to celebrate, as Managing Directors Erich Pichlmaier and Heinrich Obernhuber emphasised in their speeches. Christian Pfeiffer Beckum (also known as CPB) is now one of the world’s leading manufacturers of mill systems for cement, coal and minerals.
With the intermediate mill diaphragms patented in 1930 and the production of air separators from 1939 on (Heyd separators), Christian Pfeiffer Beckum became one of the leading component manufacturers. Over 6000 mill diaphragms, 900 separators and 50 complete mills are impressive proof of the company’s successful development. At the grand anniversary celebration, the company celebrated in particular its employees’ team spirit and innovation.
On arrival at the company’s grounds on Sudhoferweg in Beckum, guests were immediately impressed by the huge dome tent where the anniversary party took place (Fig. 1). The snow-white igloo-shaped structure, 25 m in diameter and 12.5 m in height, looked more like a work of art than a tent.
How do you bring together an international audience under one roof with a great atmosphere? With good food, a world class entertainment programme, a little magic and good music! A 360° projection under the dome roof beamed stages of the company’s history onto the tent surface (Fig. 2), and enchanted the viewers with a spectacular light and sound show. The band Lipstick & Ties kept the atmosphere perfect – from lounge music during dinner, to party hits. Singer and presenter Angela Julie accompanied the audience through the evening programme with exceptional charm. Young comedy magician Dan Berlin from Düsseldorf combined great entertainment with a touch of magic. Danceroom, a street dance group from Beckum, brought the audience to its feet, and did a great job in perfect style – in CPB workwear. The routine by multimedia performance group Lichtfaktor was the highlight of the evening. The dancers’ moves made fireworks of light explode under the tent’s dome roof.
Summary: The starry sky above Beckum wasn’t the only thing that was simply heavenly – the great entertainment made sure that the party was too.
