NordBau and CONBAU Nord 2024: Focus on infrastructure and residential construction
From renovation to transformation
Discover new products and trends, meet exhibitors and experts in person, get advice, do business, learn more, network – this is what the NordBau construction trade fair stands for – also in 2024, from September 4 to 8 on the grounds of the Holstenhallen Neumünster. In addition to the fully booked outdoor area with construction machinery, construction equipment and commercial vehicles for the upcoming infrastructure measures, the focus this year is on the premiere of CONBAU Nord. The interdisciplinary construction congress is dedicated to the central topics of residential construction and the heating transition, the challenges and practical solutions.
Experts from science, business, associations, politics and the financial industry will provide information and discuss how efficient housing construction can succeed in the future in an interdisciplinary manner. “The challenges of achieving climate neutrality in the residential building sector are enormous,” emphasizes congress co-organizer Prof. Dietmar Walberg. As Managing Director of ARGE e.V. and Honorary Professor in the Department of Construction at Lübeck University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Walberg has been advising state and federal governments on housing construction for years and, together with his institute, has recently published two major feasibility studies for Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein that have made people sit up and take notice. They show: Many supposed solutions of the past can and must be thrown overboard, otherwise the goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2045 will be jeopardized. Recommendations for action can be derived from the studies, both for high-density urban areas and for rural areas. This is because: “Efficient strategies and solutions are heavily dependent on regional conditions,” adds Prof. Walberg, who is one of 40 speakers sharing his expertise with the congress participants. From September 4 to 5, CONBAU Nord offers the opportunity for exchange and impetus to drive forward important developments in building construction. After all, in addition to the climate aspect, the number of apartments required in the future also plays a decisive role.
Developing feasible solutions quickly is important for the construction industry as a whole. And so the topics of the congress also have an impact on the exhibitors and players at NordBau. After all, prospects for future construction activities can also attract more workers to construction and trade companies. In order to attract new employees, companies will be presenting themselves for the first time this year in a specially designed recruiting area in Hall 1 on all five days of the trade fair. This is in addition to the already traditional nordjob Construction Day (September 5), which shows young people job opportunities in and around the construction industry.
Trade visitors and private construction enthusiasts will find exhibitors from the entire spectrum of the construction industry in themed halls and on the fully booked outdoor area. Modern building materials and building components, high-performance construction machinery, communication equipment and commercial vehicles for construction and trade as well as the latest energy technology will be presented. For the latter, there will be a large number of well-known manufacturers and service providers of energy, air-conditioning and heating technology to choose from, particularly in Hall 7, which is fully booked. The free advice center of the consumer advice center Schleswig-Holstein and Haus & Grund, which can provide initial information on your own planned refurbishment or building upgrade, will also be located here again.
